its amazing how much wisdom can come from unlikely sources, aka as cab drivers. apparently, to prevent yourself from getting drunk you have to eat a slab of butter. unsalted preferably if you're health conscious. also, to prevent a hangover, take two aspirins before passing out on the bed. if you wake up still feeling like shit, take 2 more. and no panadols will not do the trick.
but the real nugget was this: the rim theory, which he thought of all by himself. it began innocently enough. how many sides are there to a coin. 2 i replied. so well there are 3. that was a real blow to my intellect. and so the 3rd one was the rim. this is the side that no one (except those who are real close to the person) sees. exciting much. i've always liked the idea that people are not who they appear to be on the outside. ok but then there are others who bore the hell out of me. why do i get bored so easily?
now, i've got to find something to pique my interest. new sport, new hobby, something!

Fancy a big house
Some kids and a horse
I can not quite, but nearly
Guarantee, a divorce
I think that I love you
I think that I do
So go on mister, make Miss me Mrs you.
I love you, I love you, I love you, I do
I only make jokes to distract myself
From the truth, from the truth.
I've had a few acquaintances come up to be, stating that they'd need my services in the future to get a divorce. which shudders me. how can people start off something already thinking of the end. ok, caveat time. something meaning something serious. flings are not counted. those are the opposite. for them, you'd start of with an end in mind, and if by some miraculous act of god, there is no end, then good for you. thank god i didn't take family law and chose corporate insolvency instead. although they are equally morbid in their different ways one you think of it... i think law is really quite a depressing subject. as a student, we'd learn cases. and inevitably in every single one of them, one party's dreams/hopes are dashed. oh how are we to survive practice? when contact with real life people is needed? oh wells. at least i didn't become a doctor. i don't think i could face death on a daily basis.

it's a practical world out there. it pains me to say this but i think i would stray towards normality. it's a spectrum so maybe not full on sickeningly sweet kinda normal. let's just term it normal with a little bit of spice. so the notion of true love across class, racial, economic status barriers just got thrown a little out the door. at the end of it you've got to see what works and what doesn't. even if it means losing some of the awe and wonder that something like that entails. oops?

it's interesting to see how life seems to close one door on you, and you don't know whether this particular door will stay closed in the future. who knows? maybe it's not even closed, maybe it's just ajar? oh wells, at least i know which doors will definitely stay closed. omg, but if there's one thing i have learnt it's never say never. seesh, although, some doors should be closed and bolted shut. lest, i be saddled with disgust for the rest of my life? sometimes i just surprise myself as to my un-sentimental-ness and unfeeling-ness. i think it just depends on who's the subject. i'll leave it up to fate then, but less disappointments please?

strange how things that once used to be precious are being traded like commodities? when did passion degrade into lust? strange eh? but i guess we take what we can out of life. it's amazing how many people are looking for true love. but that's like a unicorn sighting. sure, we've heard of it, but no one has ever seen it. i guess, we make do with what we have and who we have. close your eyes, delude yourself and enjoy the moment, because that's all you're gonna get for now.

happy new year!!! and i shall attempt to write this post as grammatically correct as possible, considering i had some alcohol. soo... here goes... of course cheers to 10 years of friendship. blood, sweat and tears. literally. i cant imagine life without you guys.
in 2010, i discovered love, life and lust and finally how to differentiate between the 3. i figured out how to finally let go of the past (yes seriously[and finally!] this time). its only when you truly let go, can you ever fully experience the future. although, the process can't be rushed. and the future... whatever will it bring? everyone has their own emotional baggage. i am so glad i have rid myself of mine. now its on to find like minded people. i discovered that: never say never too. 2010 was a year of lessons learnt and firsts. lessons learnt: well at least i know my preferences and limits now... and that's good i hope. first... well, less elaborations on that.
also in 2010, i found out how lost many lost opportunities there were. and also how such things dont matter. life deals you your cards, if its meant to be, its meant to be. so all we can do is to sit back and enjoy the ride. and most importantly: know your place in the world, and in each other's hearts. enjoy it while you can and know a lost cause when you see one.
in 2011, i wish for happiness (really, that was all i wished for when it was 11:11). not only my happiness, but also for the people around me. and health, for me and my family. also, dont let the world end so soon, there's far too many things i've yet to experience
